The Story Behind Halo Terra
Halo Terra began thousands of kilometres from home.
While living and travelling in Mauritius, we experienced a completely different approach to managing mosquitoes. It wasn't about constantly spraying the garden, lighting another citronella candle or accepting that mosquitoes were simply part of being outdoors. Instead, we saw a more considered solution - one designed around mosquito behaviour and professionally managed in the background.
And we kept thinking about it.
Because back home, we knew the feeling all too well. A beautiful evening outside suddenly cut short. Guests reaching for repellent. Children being called indoors. A braai moving inside earlier than planned. The more we thought about it, the more we realised there had to be a better way.
So we decided to bring that thinking home.
We wanted to create a professionally managed mosquito solution designed around the spaces people actually want to enjoy. From family gardens and lifestyle estates to luxury lodges and outdoor hospitality environments.
That idea became Halo Terra.

A word from our Founders
Halo Terra started with a conversation we couldn't stop having.
After experiencing a different approach to mosquito management while travelling, we came home and kept asking the same question:
Why isn't this available here?
We knew how much people love being outdoors. We do too. The evenings around the fire. A glass of wine on the patio. A braai that goes on longer than planned. Children playing in the garden while the adults stay outside just a little longer... But mosquitoes have a way of interrupting those moments.
And for a long time, the answer seemed to be more repellent, more spraying or simply accepting that eventually, everyone would have to go inside.
We didn't think that had to be the only option, so we started building Halo Terra around the idea that mosquito management could be more thoughtful. More intelligent. More focused on the experience people are actually trying to protect.
Of course, the technology matters. But for us, it has never just been about the technology. It's about what happens when the technology is quietly doing its job in the background.
It's about guests staying outside a little longer. Families enjoying their gardens again. And outdoor spaces being remembered for the moments that happened there.
That's what we wanted to create with Halo Terra.
